I plan each session around whatever your child is stuck on rather than working through a scheme from the front. If that means spending forty minutes on fractions because fractions are the actual problem, we spend forty minutes on fractions. Each session ends with clear targets for next time.

Year 6 into Year 7

The jump catches out more children than anyone admits. Confident ten year olds arrive in September and meet algebra and negative numbers with a new teacher. This is the easiest problem on the list to fix, and the one most often left alone.

About me

I've taught for over 25 years in schools across London and Cornwall, including Alternative Provision, and I've held leadership roles. I support children with SEN, and I stretch more able pupils with harder work. I'm a County Writing Moderator and I hold the NPQH, the national qualification for headteachers. I'm Enhanced DBS checked and fully insured.

Sessions

Primary and KS2 sessions, including SATs, are £37.50 an hour. KS3 sessions are £40 an hour. Sessions are one-to-one, in person or online, with flexible daytime slots. There's a discount for sessions at my location or for regular block bookings.
